If you own an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (in the US), we’ve got great news: your smartphone can finally be updated to Android Nougat. While the new update is not yet available to download over the air, you can download it manually via Samsung’s Smart Switch software.

If, for some reasons, you don’t have Smart Switch (although you should, as owner of a Galaxy S7), you can download the software on your PC or Mac via the second source link below. Once you have Smart Switch on your computer, connect your phone, open the application, and you should see a notice informing you about the Nougat update. As you can see in the image below, we’re talking about Android 7.0 Nougat here, not 7.1, but the thing that matters the most is that you’ll finally get rid of Android 6 Marshmallow.

For now, it looks like Nougat is available only for the unlocked Galaxy S7 edge (model number SM-G935U). Folks rocking an unlocked Galaxy S7 (model number SM-G930U) still have to wait for the new update, though we assume the wait won’t be long.
